About YDI
Honoring a Legacy of Opportunity, Community, and Artistry
Young Dancers Initiative (YDI) has proudly served high school dancers (grades 9–12) by providing a professional, supportive, and artistically rich environment for growing artists. Since its founding, YDI has been dedicated to expanding access to high-quality training, mentorship, and performance opportunities helping young dancers build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to pursue collegiate and professional dance pathways.
Over the years, YDI offered three core tracks, Performance, Training, and Mentorship, each intentionally crafted to support the unique needs and goals of individual dancers. These programs provided not only rigorous artistic development, but also a space where young artists could be challenged, supported, and inspired.
Beyond technique and rehearsal, YDI created opportunities for networking, teaching, internships, and engagement with experienced professionals from around the world. Weekly in-studio sessions enriched dancers’ existing training, serving as a complementary program for students from studios and conservatories across the region. Many alumni have gone on to study dance in college programs, join pre-professional and professional companies, and pursue related careers in teaching, choreography, and arts leadership.
As our company comes to a close, we celebrate the meaningful work, creative accomplishments, and community that grew here. The program’s legacy lives on through the dancers whose artistry, dedication, and spirit shaped our story.
Thank you to every student, family, partner, and supporter who helped make YDI a place where young dancers could discover what is possible.
